WordCamp Dhaka 2019

My Experience in the WordCamp Dhaka 2019

(Compiled from my diary. Photo credit: Nahid Komol)…

The WordCamp Dhaka held on September 26, 2019, was the first WordCamp in Dhaka ever. The event lasted for the entire day and it was quite exciting and full of knowledge-sharing sessions.

I joined the camp at around 9:25 am as a normal attendee. The volunteers received me with some fantastic WordCamp swag such as T-shirts, pens, Stickers, etc. The main event started at 9:45 am with around 1000 attendees.

Moving forward, I found out that the event was sponsored by some platinum sponsors like WooCommerce, Jetpack, weDevs, Themeum, WP Developer, Standard Chartered Bank. In addition to that, there were other Gold, Silver, Bronze, and other Micro Sponsors.

The amazing speakers shared their knowledge on the future of WordPress and the scope of WordPress including its scalability, SEO friendliness, user-friendly design concept, and many more while some speakers shared their own success stories in WordPress.

The sponsors also had stalls at the backside of the conference room. They showcased their plugins in their stalls using banners and monitors. Each of the stall owners held a raffle draw contest using the attendees’ emails. Though I could not win any prize but was excited about the amazing prizes.

As I work on weDevs, a WordPress plugin developer company, and the Platinum sponsor of the event, I also had a stall out there on behalf of my company. And we also arranged a raffle draw just like the other stalls.

Finally, the event ended at 7 pm and there was an after-party which included a grand dinner and a folk concert. Last but not least, at around 9 pm, one of my beloved colleagues, Mr. Shams Sadek gave me a lift with his X Corolla to my home.

And that’s what I experienced at WordCamp Dhaka, 2019. I would like to thank you all especially the organizers to make the event such great. Hopefully, in the upcoming WordCamp, I will be delivering my thoughts as a speaker. So, don’t forget to wish me in the comment section below for my future badge in WordPress.org😉. Cheers!
